Private Ballet Lessons
Your body doesn’t have to hold you back. Learn tools to support your unique body and make the improvements that matter to YOU.

Group classes juggle many dancers’ needs at once — in order to get what you need out of class, you need to approach your dancing with a plan that’s tailored to your life, your body, and your goals.
As you move up the levels, your understanding of technique and the ways you care for your body need to evolve in order to keep improving, growing as an artist, and taking on fun challenges.
No teacher or studio has all the answers, but when you understand how technique works in your unique body, you can make big improvements in any kind of class.
Private ballet lessons help you:
- Understand exactly what to work on.
- Get out of the rut between physio and full class.
- Count on your body to do its thing so you can let go and have fun.
- Say goodbye to comparison and focus on what you need to thrive on your unique dance journey.
Each online lesson includes:
- A 1-hour Zoom session that pairs traditional ballet class with dance conditioning, customized for your goals, needs, and learning style.
- Written recaps of the key concepts and exercises we’ve worked on.
- Short and sweet homework that fits into your busy life and makes your body feel GOOD.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I upgrade to a bigger class pack later?
Yes! If you buy an assessment pack or 4-class pack, I’m happy to prorate the cost of a larger class pack within 30 days of your first class. For example, when switching from an assessment pack, you’d pay $330 for an 8-class pack, and have 6 hours remaining.
Can I take private lessons while I’m injured?
Most likely, yes! You should talk with your dance physio or other healthcare provider to get a diagnosis and treatment plan. From there, I can create a modified class within the parameters they set, which might include floor barre, seated work, or adaptations to traditional ballet exercises.
Returning to full class is a gradual process that needs to be guided by your health professional. We can use modified exercises to offload your injury while it heals, and improve your technique to smooth the transition, reduce your risk of future injury, and make big improvements in your dancing along the way!
Do you teach beginners? Can I just learn ballet privately?
I don’t have the “spoons” to teach ballet from scratch one person at a time, and I don’t think private lessons are the best way for beginners to get started. My focus in private lessons is to help dancers understand and adapt movement for their own needs so they can refine their technique, move past injuries, and amplify their expression once they’re already familiar with the basic ballet steps.
As a rule of thumb, you should have at least six months’ experience in a ballet class with a qualified teacher (online or in-person) or be currently enrolled in group classes with me in order to book private lessons.
Can I take private lessons if I’m not currently taking group classes?
I’m happy to take on students who aren’t currently accessing class elsewhere! I don’t teach the basic ballet steps from scratch in private ballet lessons, but if you’re familiar with the movements found in a typical ballet class and have a goal in mind, private lessons may be a great option for you.
How do I sign up?
Book a free call to chat about your ballet goals and scheduling availability. I’ll answer any questions you have about private lessons and my style of teaching, and if we decide we’re a good fit, I’ll send along the scheduling link and payment details.
How do I pay?
Payment is by Interac e-transfer, and is due upon booking your single session or class pack. If you decide to book lessons, I’ll send you the e-transfer and scheduling details after our “Meet & Greet” call.
What’s your refunds policy?
Try your first two classes — if you decide we’re not a good fit, I’ll refund the remainder of your class pack.
In extenuating circumstances, a class pack in progress can be put on hold for up to six months.
What’s your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
For class packs, the time slot you select is reserved for you until your pack expires. If your lesson is booked for Thursday at 9:30, you can bump it forward to any Thursday at 9:30 within the expiration window, or switch to any available “overflow” spot. Your booking-in email will have a link to make scheduling changes.
If you need to reschedule a pointe or injury assessment, please email to let me know as soon as possible, and we’ll find a new time that works.
I’m usually very consistent, but if I need to cancel for any reason, I’ll extend the expiration date on your class pack to make sure you don’t miss out.
